Family Engagement

Bearcat Discovery Center works to empower children, promote individuality and develop strong partnerships with families within an environment that helps children accomplish and maintain physical, cognitive, social and emotional achievement, preparing and supporting their school readiness and success.

Each child brings to Bearcat Discovery Center a history of life experience and cultural heritage.  Partnerships between families and the Center are essential to the growth, development, and health of the individual child.  We strive to create and promote these strong partnerships with families and create a sense of community that is thoughtful, warm, and compassionate.

Families complete an Interest Survey at the time of enrollment.  Responses of this survey determine Family Engagement activities that are planned throughout the year.  In addition, family events are planned at the end of many of the preschool curriculum studies.  Families will be notified of these events through Learning Genie (preschool communication system), flyers and through this website.
